Info on Samsung Flasher Programs and Firmware Revision (more on i320)

Hi all,
i hope that someone can help me to understand better the flashing way for samsung pda, like my i320.

I see that are a lot of firmware revision for i320, here is some example:
  • I320XEFG2
  • I320XEFI3
  • I320XEFJ2
  • I320XXFF4
  • I320XXFF1
  • I320XXFI3
  • I320NAIFG1
  • I320NAIFF4

But there is no info on release date o version history about those files. Some one know how or where this kind of info are?
[Seems that the first 4/5 are the models (easy yeah ) than 2 mistical letters "XX" or "AI" or "XE" (region?) at last 3 fantastic alfanumeric for the version?]
And the big question is "what is the last?"

Then, i see that in all those file are 2 directory:
  • PDA
  • PHONE

Googling around the world (here and on some russian site (but i can't read ciryllic )) i see that files in PDA directory must be flashed with "pdaflash 1.2" installed with "developer mode", loading the chain_all.lst and pluging the phone/pda powered by pressing power button and back button togheter (naturally after installed the right driver when asked).

This step it's easy, but the question is: what load on the phone? cause i flashed it from I320XXFF4 for test, but nothing seems change only the operator strartup/ending logo has gone, but in the info page i see again I320NAIFG1 as radio component.

Ok ok, for the PDA part of the story i think that's enough

Well here we ara at the PHONE part, as always goggling around i found that the .s3 files must be flashed with Optiflash and i think that i have found the right version i hope , but i don't tryed to use it yet cause i'm cofused on power on and plug of the phone to the pc without the battery (mistic thing that don't works for me now )
So, this .s3 file on PHONE directory what do?

I know that i made a lot of questions, but i hope that some one can really explain what diff are betwen PDA and PHONE, and if someone want to tell me the right way to use Optiflash i'll love that more

P.s.
like u can see my original firmware is for I320N, but this model is identical to I320 (only branded )
