Member: 1766567 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1,788 | The new firmware I9300XXUGMK7 is now available through Samsung Kies while users can also upgrade their devices via official over-the-air updates. If users face problems while installing the new firmware through the official channels, they can also update their devices by performing a manual installation. Users should note that the I9300XXUGMK7 firmware is an official release by Samsung, so users are not required to root their devices before manually installing the new firmware. Vital Points To Note - Ensure that you have proper backup for data. - Ensure that your Samsung Galaxy S3 has at least 80 percent battery power (Full charge recommended). - You must have the USB drivers for your device installed on your computer. [Download] - Enable USB Debugging. - After flashing the firmware, you will lose custom ROMs such as CM10, Paranoid Android or AOKP installed in your device. - You will also lose custom recovery such as ClockWorkMod Recovery or TWRP Recovery if you have any. - After installing the firmware on your Galaxy S3, you will lose the root if you have any as the I9300XXUGMK7 is an official firmware. Tutorial Step 1: Download the updated firmware package and extract the zip file. Download I9300XXUGMK7 I9300OJKGMK1 ILO zip Download file PTR-I9300XXUGMK7-20140103162332.zip Step 2: Download Odin v3.07 and extract the zip file. DevFiles.co - Free file hosting for Android devs! Step 3: Switch off the Galaxy S3 and put it in Download Mode. To do this, press Volume Down + Home + Power buttons, and then press Power again to enter Download Mode. Step 4: Run Odin v3.07.exe as an Administrator. Step 5: Connect the Galaxy S3 to your computer via the USB cable while the phone is in the Download mode. If the phone is connected properly, you will see that the ID:COM section turns Yellow with a message appearing in Odin’s message box, saying “Added!!” If not, check whether the USB drivers are installed properly on the computer. Step 6: Now, select the following files that were extracted in Step 1 to install them: - In Odin, click the PDA button and select the .tar.md5 file. - Click the Phone button and select file with MODEM in its name - Click the CSC button and select file with CSC in its name - Click the PIT button and select the .pit file Step 7: In Odin, select the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options, but make sure that the re-partition checkbox is not selected. Step 8: Now, click on the Start button in Odin to begin the installation process. Once the installation is complete, the phone will reboot on its own. Once you get the Samsung logo on the home screen, you can unplug the device from the computer and close Odin. |
