Samsung t429 "unaccepted sim card" Apologizes for probably a basic and ridiculous question, but I am in the process of disabling the phone lock on a T429. I have the process to accomplish this from a previous thread, however, it states I need a "unaccepted sim card" to do this. I have used different carriers, test sims, and out of country sim cards, and it still accepts the cards fine. This is a T-Mobile phone. My question is: What are some examples of "Unaccepted sim cards?" Thanks a lot for your help. ~Jesse

If your phone is accepting the SIMs (does not show any error/wrong SIM message) and appears to be ready to go, it may just be that the phone is already unlocked. Try entering *#7465625#. That may take you to a hidden menu which shows the status of all locks. If it does, scroll through the locks. If unlocked, all should show "inactive". "Unaccpted SIM", in your case, means anything BUT a T-Mobile SIM.

Thanks for your help. I am not sure if I am using the right terminology. By "locked," I am referring to the phone needing a password on startup. I am using the following steps to try to make the phone lock inactive: First with different carrier SIM in phone at WRONG CARD screen ENTER on the keypad *2767*3855# (wait 10-15 seconds) phone will reboot(restart) When phone completes reboot ENTER *7465625*638*00000000*00000000# NEXT ENTER #7465625*638*00000000# AND THEN *#7465625# to check the locks, all locks are inactive.,these are all the locks... network lock - inactive subset lock - inactive sp lock - inactive cp lock - inactive sim lock - inactive activa lock - inactive phone lock - inactive auto network - inactive auto subset lock - inactive auto sp lock - inactive auto cp lock - inactive when I get to "#7465625*638*00000000#" the phone simply states "Wrong password." The reason why I was originally asking what is an "Unaccepted sim card" was when I did put in a non T-mobile sim, I was not getting the WRONG CARD screen as stated before. Please advise. Thanks again in advance.

The code sequeneces that you are entering are used to deactivate the network lock, allowing the phone to be used with any carrier. Your last post indicates that everything is unlocked. I gather that you really need to bypass/deactivate a user entered password. Insert your regular SIM. Then, enter the *2767*3855# sequence. That is a full factory default reset. If asked for password on startup, enter '00000000' which is the factory default password. Hope this helps.

Slight delay in replying to you: I checked a few sources via Google. It would seem that your only recourse is to either use a commercial unlocking service, or buy software which will "read" the phone and display the password(s). Search Google with somethign such as "Samsung Cell Phone Password unlock" and look at the various options. You never know, there may be some "freeware" available. Sorry that I can't go further here.
