Most of the phones nowadays have the eerpom area emulated in the flash.

I don't think there are any left with an physical eeprom for the new models.

That was a nice time .... for sure not coming back.

    Hi !

All new models have the eeprom emulated in flash. The last model that used external eeprom was MC3000 if i remember well. And yes any phone model can be recognized by IMEI ... you can see that feature in New Sagem Calculator available at www.hack3r2k.com at SALES ...

    Hi Metal slugger

by saying recognized by IMEI do u mean for all phones (all brands) or for your Sagem disciples? By knowing this what advantage will it have??

MC 920 has eeprom separatly .. it is at the bottom near the charging connector. Presume all the MC **** is like that. MW not much experience due to the very bad performance sagem used to have in the past. Nowadays things have changed at last to the good side

Not only SAGEM. You can detect model by IMEI for all GSM phones ... this offcourse if the original imei wasn't alterated.

    @De Moon:
Give the imei and i will tell u which model it is and if has external or internal eepr.

What is IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity)?

IMEI is a unique for each phone 15-digit number that represents the mobile phone`s code. Its divided in 4 parts (see table below).

    TAC FAC SN SP
    XXXXXX XX XXXXXX XX

TAC (Type Approval Code): The first 2 numbers of TAC define in which country this phone was approved.
FAC (Final Assembly Code): This code defines where the phone was assembled (manufacturer). These are FAC codes of some manufacturers:

    Here are some examples:

    FAC Manufacturer
    01, 02, 65
    AEG
    07, 40
    Motorola
    10, 20
    Nokia
    30 Ericsson
    40, 41, 44 Siemens
    50
    Bosch
    51
    Siemens, Sony, Ericsson
    60
    Alcatel
    61
    Ericsson
    80
    Philips
    85 Panasonic

etc and the list may go on. Anyway here are just some ex. The list is really long

SN (Serial Number): This code is handset`s serial number.
    SP (Spare): Luhn Check Digit.

You don't need the imei for flashing it. Yeah ... you russify it.

Yes, I dont need IMEI for flashing Sagem, but my friend told me that he will buy for me some Sagems (MC939, MW930) in Germany. So I want to tell him which phones he should buy, and which not. I do not want to buy sagems, that I could not russify.
