Siemens cables: unlocking cable=data cable? - GSM-Forum

New to the forum and I have a few noobie questions!

I've found a cable diagram for Siemens phones that seems to be the same for quite a few if not all models, with the exeption of the connector pinout of course.

I already have access to an original Siemens data cable - is this the same thing as the one I could build? I'm guessing maybe not, as the diagram calls for an external 12v powersupply.

I also have an old unlocking kit for Nokia-phones that has replaceable connectors to fit various older Nokias. Could this be modified to fit, say, a Siemens MC60?
