Tip for keypad problems...


If you have one or more keys that not working, you can test the connection to the Gold with a simply diode-test.
If you are able to use a diode tester you can test every connection to the Gold like keypads.
Connect the digital multimeter with + to GND and - to the keypad (of couse the mobile MUST be out of every voltage!!)

If the connection to the Gold is OK you will get ca. 2,5V on the digits. If you change the direction you must get a "-OF" in the display.

If you get "-OF" with both directions, the connection to the Gold is not OK, and you might to rehot the Gold or sth else.

Note: If there is a cold ball @Gold always more than one Key is not working! If ther is a cold ball, then a complete row or a line on the Keypad-matrix will not work!

If only one or two Keys are not working , you should spend no time on reheating the Gold.

Sometime Rehot Not help. Reballing is the only solution. But Cant find New PMB's (in your Word "GOLD") stencil to reballing in Market. So be carefult for not to Screwed Up the Phone.
