USB DIV key not found error

I am using Windows XP and Div 5.0. I made sure that I run userport.exe.

When I double click on the Div 5.0 exe file, it says "Div Usb key not found". What could be the problem?

Also, When I try to open Div 8.4, it says "Terminator not found". I dropped "NTPORTIO.sys" in c:\windows\system32\drivers directory.

Please help.

Try this, run userport, press start, then press stop, then run div usb.

Make sure your Terminator dongle is plugged in securely and the power cable connected to your USB socket

I made sure that my dongle is connected well and inserted the USB end into the socket. I also cleaned the connecting parts.

Sounds like either your dongle is dead, or you have a TotalTools dongle instead. DId you buy this recently, or has this problem just occurred ?

I didn't have any problem with this dongle before. No it is not TotalTools dongle. In fact, I used this dongle one day before I started having this problem.

OK, here's another method then if UserPort does not work), run Div 8.4 first , then run DivLPT 5.0 (keep Div 8.4 running - don't close it). See if that works

Didn't you made a bios reset before you start to have troubles with Div?
Try to play with bios paralel settings. I had troubles with Totalmoto, and after a some settings in bios it worked OK. Total Moto olso uses paralel dongle with usb adaptor...

Finally...Fix it. I checked that all port setting and bios were ok. Put userport.exe, ntportio in same folder as div5 and userport.sys in Windows/system32/driver. Start userport and give at least 10sec (you can close it but dont press "stop") then open Div5 and everything ok..... If this doesnt work then you have a faulty dongle, and how to make sure, try it in another computer.

Thanks to Bungle
FYI I have Windows XP SP2.
