Well, problems you can have with any model almost...
I mean, you can unlock 100 6600 units without a single problem, but in one day a single unit can give problems...

but that was not your question...

The answer is, yes is possible from longtime ago.

Now if you ask, "can i have problems unlocking them?"
The answer is also yes. You can have problems with any phone.
Personally never had problems with 6230 / 7610.

ok. since cingular just locked their phone. some dealer told me they have problem unlocking them. I am waiting my griffin back from dead. so i can't confirm it yet
