Class1 devices is the longest (100m) as of today.

Surely an amplifier (powered wifi antenna?) could be used to increase the range of any device, no?

ya maybe if u fix an antena or an amplifier it would increase the range

once i saw a bluetooth device which can reach up 250 meters but im not sure if it was a usb one

Yes, but you would need it on both sides I suppose... so you might aswell just use wifi
