How about using the Widcomm Bluetooth software instead?
I use WC version 5 posted here (which seems to originate from Logitech btw) and it works perfectly with my Dell laptop (D series with BT350) and every BT device I have tried sofar.

Someting else...
The Sonorix, is it the OBH-0110?
How do you like it? Build quality, usability of the buttons on the headset, VoIP use...

I am thinking about buying one myself and sofar have narrowed it down to four headsets that include a microphone (suggestions welcome):
- B-Speech Calypso
- Sonorix OBH-0110 (available rebranded as well - e.g. Anycom)
- Plantronics 590 (reputable company)
- Cellink BTST9000A

Both the Sonorix and Cellink seem to offer the widest support for different devices while providing the highest quality (less distortion) audio support.
Important for me as I will be using the headset for both VoIP and audio listening from computer and my home cinema set.
Sofar, the Sonorix seems to offer the 'most bang for the buck'.

These headsets are not exactly cheap ($120-$200), so some research before buying I think is not that bad an idea. Besides, as there are not that many if any reviews available on the web yet, I am interesting in the opinion of actual users of the above products.

(Probably should have posted this in the hardware section but since most people are reading here...)

Can't use widcom stack - sonorix is using sbc audio codec. Bluesoleil is the only one using sbc

From the Sonorix website:
'SONORIX Stereo Headset supports A2DP MP3 in addition to SBC'

So, I'd give it a try... but that's up to you, of course.

Regarding your VAIO bluetooth module:
There seem to be several firmware hacks/updates available.
Google revealed a few websites dedicated to that.
May be worth checking out as well.

Here's one:
http://www.siliconpopculture.com/sonytr/index.php

On top of that there possibly is an upgrade for your VAIO:
ALPS Bluetooth version 2.0+EDR compliant UGPZ6 Module
Sony Part Number: 147912912
Sony DAPC Description: BLUETOOTH MODULE
Unit Price (in USD): $93.11
Hefty price but hey, your headset ain't cheap either! ;)
