Widcomm License Patcher 1.8

Not much changes from the previous version since it is still working quite nicely on all recent Widcomm versions.

Just one nice new feature for you, that I have been meaning to put in for some time but have been too lazy until today.

If you load up the license.dat and resave it with a different VID selected, the program will now check in the btwusb.inf (the usb driver file) in the win32 and win64 folders to ensure that the device you have selected is listed in the .inf file.

If it is not listed, or it is in the excluded list then the software will offer to modify the .inf file for you automatically.

Let me know how you get on with this new feature :-)

Wow. That is a nice improvement. It's pretty much all clicking now, no more manual. Thanks a lot Phantasm

I'm running Windows x64. Patcher ran fine, message was "sucessfull", but when I click on "Start Bluetooth" in the taskbar I have a message saying the license does not include this OS [-350].

So it looks like it patched a Win32 License file insteas of a Win64. Could anyone provide me with a Win x64 licence file ?

Thx.

Ive used this with xp64 and never seen that error.

which version of the widcomm stack was this?

also how did you use the patcher - did you patch the registry after installing, or generate a patched license key prior to installing.

This is so amazing. After over five hours trying to get this stupid bt device to work after having to reinstall windows on my itronix gobook II, the damn license issue kept biting me in the @$$. After updating the license with the correct vid/pid, I finally got it to work. I'm configuring my bluetooth places right now. Thanks again. This was a major relief!

one more thing. It's not perfect, but I was just able to re-connect to my E815 and get to the net. There is something wrong with windows though. When I go to BT Neighborhood, it gives a script error over and over again. I just keep clicking NO and it lets me get it configured. Thanks again.

Hi. I'm into hour 3 of trying to figure this out. Exactly what do I open with the tool, and what do I save?

Thanks. Your efforts are much appreciated.
