Member: 318445 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | Actually I found it in a post from Aqualung, page 3, but now I realise that the firmware ending 251 is for the 200 class 2 model and my Dell Truemobile 355 is class 2 so it probably makes sense to use that one. I had been thinking I was using the firmware for the 250 which is class 1 and wondered whether that might be the reason why it stops my wireless adapter from working. I tried flashing my device with the original Dell firmware but the flashing fails the device becomes Broadcom Bluetooth Firmware Upgrade Device. After turning the machine off and on it reverts to being the Anycom device. |

Member: 501325 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | I have the following HW/firmware: BCM92045DG-Flash, firmware 2.1.39.77, IOGear GBU221 2.0+EDR (class 2) VID/PID= OA5C/2101 I have just upgraded my drivers to 5.1.0.3100 from anycom's site: http://forum.anycom.com/index.php?topic=1799.0 I previously had 5.0.1.1100 and had very poor stereo (A2DP) support, as it cuts out constantly. These new drivers haven't helped in anyway. I still hve good AVRCP function and skype/IMtalk are fine too. My two_year_old samsung d600 supports A2DP quite well with my headphones and it sounds great (funny how older, "non-smart" phones handle this well). I have tried to update the firmware via the "DFUWizard", but got a message that "The DFU wizard did not detect a matching Bluetooth device for DFU image file you selected...." and asked that i find the appropriate DFU file for the bt device. I think there is some related w/in the first two pages of this thread and am going back to reread, but if anyone has some insight i'd appreciate it. |

To perform firmware upgrade, place the dfu file in the SvcPack folder, and make sure its ; copied to the Program Files\Bluetooth Software\bin folder using the [Files] section above ; Set the same file name as 'DfuFileName' below. I will try this method, Last edited by greendrake; 05-05-2007 at 17:45.

Member: 501325 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Thank you to all the folks here supplying such good info. I was successful in using the firmware version: 2.1.128.251 provided in post #13 by using the flash update tool: btdfuwizard.exe provided in post #11. I previously had firmware version: 2.1.39.77 My hardware details are as follows: BCM92045DG-Flash, , IOGear GBU221 2.0+EDR (class 2) VID/PID= OA5C/2101 A2DP sounds great now with WMP11, absolutely no sound cutting out. I really can't believe that worked, and I don't know why these OEMs refuse to provide updated firmware/ drivers, except Anycom of course. Does anyone know if it's MS or broadcom causing this issue? How can these OEMs do this? IOGear's techsupport told me the best recommendation they had was to re-start my connections and media player, and that clearly wasn't any solution. I will make a table showing what has been known to work if anyone has interest. Should it be its own thread? Thank you! |

i believe we have the same hardware setup... I have successfully edited the dfu file so the BT updater accepts my hardware. however when the process starts updating my dongle, it turns the device off and the update stops tells me to plug my device back in. About half a second later the dongle re-activates and the process starts again. This will keep looping until i cancel at the 'plug your device in' warning. anybody else run into this?

Member: 318445 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | Thanks for the reply. I did read that post but I assumed I would need a Dell version of the Firmware Upgrade device drivers. What happens for me is that after trying to flash with the modified Dell dfu file the device goes into Broadcom Bluetooth Firmware Upgrade device then Windows successfully installs drivers for this device. In post #16 you say update the drivers to IBMs drivers but I found no drivers in the file IBM7kbf02ww.exe only what seems is a version of BtDfuWizard.exe with the IBM firmware inside and no SetupBluetoothFirmware.exe. Anyway I tried again and ran the IBM program and now my device is showing as Thinkpad Bluetooth. Now my WiFi adaptor works at the same time as the Bluetooth but my BT headset won't connect in headset mode. If I had the setupBluetoothFirmware.exe would I be able to use it with the Dell dfu file?
