hey lexab65.

This worked great. The first time I tried to update using this firmware I got the Broadcom Bluetooth Firmware Upgrade Device again. I let it install the drivers for this and then repeated the same process and this time the firmware updated. Now I have my Dell Truemobile back with newer firmware and so far everything working.

Big thanks for this. BTW where did you get it from?

cheers
damole

I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 bit on an Acer 5113WLMi, I have tried updating the firmware, but the process starts & immediately stops bluetooth I switch bluetooth off then on again & device drivers are automatically installed & the error message goes but the process just hangs. Anyone know a way around it? Also, in vista how can I see my current firmware version. The device is recognised as Broadcom Bluetooth 2.0+EDR USB dongle with trace filter with the latest broadcom drivers.

Hi Beelzebub

for 64 bit OS you can use latest ANYCOM firmware upgrade
It's include 64 bit version of flasher(SetupBluetoothFirmware64.exe)
ftp://drivers.anycom.com/beta/usb200...-1-224-350.exe
just run it and look at %TEMP% dir for directory named "BtDfuWizard"
it's too heavy to post it here with rar because of 64 bit file versions was also included.
Just remove rar from the end of each files
also you need modify firmware for your dongle PID/VID
7z did magic compression work

I have a BCM2045A internal laptop module (common piece available in multiple laptops). This one had very ancient firmware 2.1.16 (With Widcomm 5.1.0.1100 and had problems with detecting HID devices) so I decided to give it a shot and try anycom/IBM procedure. Original VID 0A5C and PID 2045.
When I tried to update with Anycom unmodified firmware, it accepted v0A5C_p2111_BCM2045B1_002.001.128_Anycom_0250.dfu and updated my devbice without asking any questions (I expected it to fail and leave me with firmware-mode device). Device works fine, but Widcomm reported HW adress 00:00:00:00:00:00. Later on I decided to continue with upgrade and modified IBM dfu to match new PID (of "anycom" device) of 2110 and finally I have 2.1.211.299 firmware and everything seems to be fine apart from device adress, that now is shown as FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF.
Is possible to revert/correct/repair the hardware address?

Acer Extensa 3102 WXMi: firmware updated for pulsar 590E headset

hi all,

thanks a lot for this thread!
I bought a pulsar 590E bluetooth headset but it sounded really bad on my Acer Extensa 3102 WXMi Laptop under WinXP SP2. I went through the following steps and sound quality improved a lot!

- downloaded BTFlasher-v2-1-224-01.exe linked on page 6
- did firmware update with v0A5C_p2111_BCM2045B1_002.001.128_Tecom_0251.dfu from first page.
(there might be newer ones, but I was unpatient and did not want to read through the whole thread, maybe I missed something...)
- installed anycom driver anycom-bluetooth-usb200-250-windows-v5-1-0-3300-BETA.exe linked on page 6

microphone was identified immediately as hands-free-unit AND stereo audio. the appear both connected at the same time in my bluetooth environment.
I choose the device within any given application (winamp goes stereo audio, skype goes hands-free-unit and so on)
The stereo audio mode has AWESOME sound quality, even through a wall into the next room but no microphone.
The hands-free-unit mode supports microphone but is of rather poor quality, maybe this can be improved, I did not try much yet.

are there any suggestions how to tweak the quality of this hands-free-unit mode?
