Member: 1339494 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Toshiba tells us that "this software is for Toshiba notebooks only" (or some such words) - BUT: Even with my AVM Bluefritz! 2.0 usb stick, this driver works perfectly. - and no, no Toshiba stick and no other toshiba hardware here... But one must NOT be discouraged by the installation procedure which does not detect the hardware device (leaving a ! marked unrecognized device in device manager!). I used my usual trick: I removed the device in device manager, made device manager search for new hardware, then do a search for the driver NOT in the toshiba folder, but in windows\inf, producing a long list of all kinds of hardware (not just bluetooth devices) - this takes some time... After the list is complete, one has to pick "bluetooth radio device" (or whatever it is called in English windows 7) and then install a toshiba based device simply called "usb bluetooth device". This will result in the installation of a "MSI bluetooth adapter". Now (and thanks to the "cure" anyway), bluetooth is ready and fully functional. The good thing is a working PAN connection which in contrast to MS Bluetooth is seen as a true LAN adapter which enables us to use ICS (internet connection sharing, which would not be possible with MS Bluetooth). Of course, as I wrote in the beginning, this all refers to that Bluefritz! device. flongo by the way... - this is written using bluetooth and these very drivers ;-) - the older (non-windows 7) drivers, some 6.x version, were my previous drivers, and they ALSO worked perfectly (though I found that annoying little message in event log about incompatibility with this windows version, that's why I tried these new drivers) Last edited by flongo; 07-06-2010 at 22:58. |
