audio issue resolved: virtual devices will show up only if the corresponding hardware is connected (i.e. a BT headset)

By the way, these drivers are WHQL certified and the patch from this topic seems to work to get around trial.

so far; best BT stack I ever used. Everything works perfectly. Previous best was ITV Blusoleil 2.3, but it sufered from random freezeng of the notebook BT chip (only shutdown helped).

Tested with laptop DELL Latitude d820 (DELL Truemobile 350, BT 2.0, CSR based)
-Plantronics 590 BT 2.0 stereo headphones
-Logitech MX 1000 Laser BT 2.0
-WinXP SP2

did not required crack (original DELL BT stack is also Toshiba, wich is interesting becuase v4.xx did not work, it worked only from DELL driver page)

Folks,

How do you compare this version with the older v4? Also, how you do compare with the Widcomm v5? Honestly, I am hesitate to go back with the Toshiba stack but it seems Broadcom has shut the door for CSR based dongle, so I may have no choice in the future.

Thanks.

If the current crack works fine, then i see no problem to use this version as the Widcomm replacement ever since the 5.1.0.1100 does not officially support Vista.. I'm eager to hear the experiences of others with CSR based dongles.

Regards,

Adi

Toshiba stack

IMHO, I have always found Toshiba to be superior to Widcomm.

I just did a clean install of XP (after trying that crap called Vista) and I can't get this to work with my Dell 350.

It doesn't recognize the BT module at all, while installing it keeps asking me to insert my bluetooth module, when I click cancel the install completes succesfully but under taskmanager the Dell 350 shows up as "USB Device" with a yellow exclemation mark indicating it's not working properly.

Any suggestions?

Toshiba BT Stack 5.10.01, Dell BT 350 & FreePulse

I just installed the latest Toshiba BT stack on my Dell Precision M65. I have the Dell BT 350 internal module and I'm running XP SP2. My Logitech Freepulse headphones work perfectly with the latest Toshiba BT stack.

Wink Installation

Hi frylord,

Install the latest Dell Toshiba Bluetooth stack first and install the latest Toshiba software version afterwards. This worked for me on a native XP installation.

I have a CSR dongle and had no problems installing this new Toshiba bluetooth on my XP Pro desktop. It connects my nokia with PC Suite no problems there either.. Ran the patch i don't really know if it worked, just have to wait after 30 days.

When i checked the driver version thru device manager it comes up with 5.0.1028.0 here I'm a bit confused, is this right?

Folks,

While I like certain things of this Toshiba stack, but I could not agree completely with the notion it is way better than Widcomm. Since I am not familiar with all the things, perhaps you guys can help me out please....

1. Can a paired device have more than one service profile without creating multiple "shortcuts" in Bluetooth Settings list?

2. TosOBEX.exe often make my computer stuck at 100% CPU usage, even though I have not got any active Bluetooth connection. I must kill that process to bring my computer back to normal. So what is wrong with it?

Thank you very much.

Hi, it might be a good alternative to Widcomm, but keep in mind that both Toshiba and Bluesoleil stacks consumes much more RAM memory. On my computer, about 50 MB more RAM is occupied having Toshiba or Bluesoleil stacks instead of Widcomm.
I've had problems with all of them... nothing is perfect, however, I do prefer Widcomm.

Gix,

Well, in my case, I have found that BlueSoleil stack cannot completely disable the Bluetooth card I use without physically removing it... I can do that with Widcomm.
