Unable to install Bluetooth

Hello peeps,

I am a noob here in the forum. So Please ignore any offence if I might have caused by posting in irrelevant section.

i have BCM 2035 Bluetooth chipset. It was working fine with WIDCOMM drivers version 4.1.700 or something like that.

It was working fine untill I tried to use an updated version of the drivers and downloaded WIDCOMM drivers version 5.0.1.1100 or something like that from this forum/ or a post that linked to the download page.

I installed it, and it went fine, applied the patch as directed and my bluetooth dongle was detected in device manager but not in task bar where the bluetooth tray icon was RED.

I uninstalled it and tried it again. and here is when my problem started. by the way I did remove registry enteries after uninstallation using Ccleaner and at one point TuneUp Utilities 2008.

Now when I try to install either of both of these versions I get a prompt by Windows that tells me that I already have a latest version of "Bluetooth software" Installed.

I havent installed any!!!!

What to do peeps?

I did download a 5.*.4200 version and ran it. The result was same prompt.

can any one tell me What to do to get my bluetoth working? I tried System Restore and it doesnt work.

Please suggest me a solution.

Hello Peeps,

I have successfully re-installed Broadcomm (Version: 5.1.0, Build: 1100) drivers on my PC.

And they have been working fine. I must thank many Guru users here on this forum who provided the exact step-by-step Guide for installation of drivers.
It wouldhave been impossible without them.

Simple.

By the way I had no way but to re-install my Windows XP SP 2 in order to have working a bluetooth dongle.

I didnt find any other solution at all.

we intend to use bluetooth printing support on our xpSP2 laptops. Problem
seems that when changing a bluetooth printer with a new one (same model, same
manufacturer) the user is unable to install it. with admin right all works
well. A regular user cannot install a local printer, the bluetooth printer is
treated as a local printer -> is this the problem? I know that each bluetooth
device has its own unique ID, but lets not exaggerate !
If this situation cannot be handled by a regular useraccount, we intend to
use a newer HP model that will have WIFI builtin.
Unless someone has a solution ?!
