| Vista 32bit & MS Tranciever for Bluetooth Hello everyone, Firstly can you please read what I have to say before flaming me as I have had a look around in many places and havnt found a solution for my problem yet. I bought a MS Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 a few months ago, and the first time that I set it up it worked flawlessly. The k/b and mouse connected to it, my Nokia E65 connected to it, everyhthing was working great. Then I had to give my E65 in for repairs and was given a loan phone which also had bluetooth (it was a Nokia Flip Phone cant remember the model though). During the process of connecting the loan phone up, most of the drivers installed properly bar afew, but the phone still connected to the Nokia PC Suite Software properly as far as I could see, so I didnt worry about the many "Unknown Devices" that had popped up in Device Manager. When I got my E65 back it connected alright, but I got an urge to try and get rid of hte "Unknown Devices" and everthing went down hill from there. I eventually got it working again. I cant remember exactly how, but i basically cleansed my computer of everythin relating to bluetooth that I could find, k/b & mouse software, drivers, nokia software etc. I think the main thing that got it working again was installing the widcomm software update and selecting the software mode setting for the bluetooth device as opposed to the hardware mode (possibly the other way around?). Now I am faced with the same problem again, though I'm not 100% sure what caused it this time, I suspect it had something to do with Registry Mechanic 6 as it seemed to stuff up after a full scan & clean with that. Anyways, now there are no bluetooth devices at all in the device manager, I cannot get the Widcomm updater to work, as it doesnt recoginse any bluetooth devices. The keyboard and mouse still work great, but I want to get the full functionality back. Windows does recognise that a devices is being unplugged/plugged in when inserting/removing the dongle, as it makes the sounds to indicate, though I cant see it anywere. I have tried renaming, btw***.inf files, installing other drivers, and everything I could think of but no cigar. If I could get the bluetooth device to show up in device manager I'm sure that I could get it goin again, but I'm seriously out of ideas apart from nuking windows and sarting again. Any one got any? The model number on the back of the reciever is "msk-1603" if that helps. To those who read my whole post, thanks for the effort, any help on this would be great. |

| just to clarify, when I say that there are no bluetooth devices in the device manager, what I meant was there are no devices in the device manager that I can see relate to the dongle, that is, no unknown, or other devices. I have tried, sys file check aswell. |
