i'm get license error if i UPGRADE old WIDCOMM drivers. (not uninstall before)

If I make full uninstall old WIDCOMM , reboot , and install new drivers, no license problems founded .... I checked on two different computers - home desktop with MSI dongle and Dell D610 with internal BT - no problems...

Let me know how you get on.
Also if you get the "Bluetooth license check failed. Please make sure that the bluetooth device you are using is licensed..." please post the exact message,
there may be a number between the words CHECK and FAILED. I have placed these numbers into the various dll's so that I can see which dll is triggering this.
I don't understand what your are doing Phantasm. You did a patch in the 4 files and this was similar to a modification pasha1974 did in his working patch. But pasha1974 did a second modification in every file: Replacing 83 C4 0C 85 C0 75 12 8A 4C 24 14 84 C9 75 0A 56 57 E8 D1 15 with 83 C4 0C 85 C0 90 90 8A 4C 24 14 84 C9 90 90 56 57 E8 D1 15.

Don't you need this modification? I think you need it...

The problem is that the values in the x64 file seems to be different than in x32 and I didn't find a system behind it.

How did you find the position for the replacement you already did?

Lightbulb First Remove existing BT Stack

It should be a general rule to ALWAYS Remove Stack (and turn receiver off) prior to install or update of Stack.
Even a re-install of the Dell Supplied Widcomm 3x (seems to lose some functions after a while)
will be problematic if not first removed. Control Panel; Add/Remove does it all for Widcomm.
But MS Stack has to be done through Device Manager and then rename Bth.inf & Bth.pnf to keep it gone.
Is the "License Warning" just for the 64bit or both?

Thank you!!

It works perfectly on my ISSC USB Bluetooth dongle. I didn't do it right the first time, and so I got the "license.dat not found" message.
Then remove dongle, uninstall all residues from the crappy Bluetooth driver (read, Bluesoleli), unpack the patch to the svcpack folder, install widcomm, attach dongle, reboot and it works!

IMO. Widcomm stack are well better than the IVT bluesolei. With IVT bluesoleli, the ISSC dongle will become unusable(ie. unknown device detected) when computer resumes from standby. With Widcomm driver, the ISSC dongle will stays detected as always.

Many thanks.

i cant seem to get this to work for mine mx set from logitech. i think ive done everything correctly.

uninstalled bluetooth drivers.
uninstalled setpoint.
patched the files in safe mode.
add the line in btwusb.inf

but nothing gives. still blue with red.

I think my problem is that when windows find it its installed as a composite usb device. ive read some where that the dongle must be in HCI but in some update from logitech there was een firmware update that turned the device into HID. ive tried to get it to work with HID2HCI but again no go

some one with a MX desktop that did get it to work? please be so kind to tell me.

I know that when you install the setpoing 2.46c software it automatically installs some sort of addon that switches the dongle from it's composiste device state into a pure Bletooth dongle.. i don't have the CD anymore or i would have let you know what it was. It is definetly a separate program from the Widcomm software... you should check on your setpoint cd to see if you can find something. The program should be independent of what ever version of Widcomm you have installed.

mouse works, headphones not so much

I installed the 32-bit version with service pack on my Dell with TrueMobile 350. I got the bt mouse working great. However, when I try to discover my hp bt headphones, the device gets found, but when the "bluetooth service selection" dialogue box comes up, I get no services to select! (See attached picture).
Can anyone help to explain this behavior and solve this problem?
Thanks much.

If you would have taken the time to read a few posts above, you would have noticed that you must first uninstall the OLD version and then install the new one.

Thanks for the input I did read the posts and guess what I formatted and installed XP SP2 just to set up the new version of Widcomm (so there is no old version to uninstall !!) after setup I get the license file is not valid and it shows this: [6] error (Phantasm4489 was asking for the error number in previous posts) and if I try to associate the old license file it shows: [-32] error, please guys help me out...
