Widcomm 5.1.0.2100

Greeting all ! :)

Looks like nobody even bothered with the 5.0.1.3200 release that i posted a few days ago so in order to bring some interest here's 5.1.0.2100 :D

Fixes : - Misc. bug fixes

This fresh release (Sept 20 2006) comes from Anycom once again and i must give props to them since they're pretty much the only company that offers GOOD support with regular driver AND firmware updates for their products. (besides some laptop companies like IBM/Lenovo..)

Anyways, i've upped it here :

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AJV7RU4L

I also bundled in latest LicencePatcher 1.8 by Phantasm4489. Many thanks to him for a great program !!! :)

I have't had time install it and test it out but i'm waiting for your comments expecially when it comes to compatibility with CSR and ISST based devices that was broken in previous 5.1.0.1700 release :D

Enjoy everyone and post away !

Adi

I've got a Dell Wireless 350 dongle (which I think is CSR) and this doesn't appear to work with it. After modifying the INF file it installs the drivers and appears to work, but won't discover services on any of my devices (HBH-DS970 headphones, X30 Pocket PC, and a WM5 smartphone). I think thats the same issue that happens with the 5.1.0.1700 drivers.

Rather off-topic, but I've been using the Toshiba BT stack for the Dell 350 and I'm quite happy with it.

If anyone is interested the latest version is available here:

http://aps.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/

If you search the forum there's a patch to overcome the 30 day limit for unlicensed devices.

Well that sux.. I guess we can officially say goodbye to our old CSR dongles and Widomm :(

Our only hope is if IBM releases a 5.1.0.xxxx version of the Widcomm drivers since i recall the chipsets used in their laptops are CSR based. (at least some of them are) I'm crossing my fingers as their next release should be around December. Only thing to do is wait and see, or ebay this CSR dongle :S

Use btwusb.inf from 5.1.1100. You can download it here.
My laptop Acer 5672 works fine.

maxxam 10-03-2006 17:52

there is no csr dongle in the default btwusb.inf.
i put my csr dongle in this default btwusb.inf and install the bt device.
now i can discover bt devices but not there services i get a security error message. :-(

Could someone send me 5.1.0.2100?
The above links don't work for me at all.. they seem to be forever fully occupied. Thanks!

Thanks buddy (adisor19), keep'em coming!

Btw, how come this one is considerably smaller than the previous release (5.1.0.1700)?

The 5.1.0.1700 from Anycom contains a firmware update for their BT adapters.

Yes unfortunetly, as others have already noted, it IS not compatible with CSR based dongles.
