Toshiba Stack V4.20.1

All

I have tested Broadcomm versions 4 thru to 5.1.0.1700 on MS, Belkin, Logitech and CSR dongles.

I have also tested Toshiba V4.00.31 on all these.

Toshiba stack is by far the most stable on ALL of these dongles. My mouse and KB (Logitecg & MS) connect flawlessly everytime on computer start, my stereo bluetooth headset (Moto HT820) connects and the performance is superb. No static, drops or hisses. When I pause and resume, I always get the music. AVRCP profile works even after a pause of 30 mins.

I was having problems with V5xxxx of Broadcomm stack with my above devices.

My suggestion is to go for the Toshiba stack. There is a V4.20.1 available on:

http://aps.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/pages/download.php

I have not tested this yet, but V4.00.36 had copy protection for stereo Bluetooth devices (it will only pair to devices that conform to SCMS-T copy protection method).

As for V4.00.31 I have this, but in order to be useful you will have to modify the btwusb.inf equivalent file called tosrfusb.inf with yor devices VID and PID.

I am willing to upload V4.00.31 (32 bit only) to a common site; someone will have to tell me where and how.

Hi,

thanks for the hint.
Anyway, I already tried the Toshiba BT stack in the past and also noticed that it is very stable.
Unfortunately, either past and actual versions are all limited to a 30 days trial and I could not find any solution so far.

If only somebody could help there

Regards,

ulysse

u means the SCMS-T protection or the time-limit?
I tried it, It's ok.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Toshiba\BluetoothStack \V1.0\AV]
"NoHeader"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Toshiba\BluetoothStack \V1.0\EZC]
"ShowAvContentProtectionMenu"=dword:00000001

err, something wrong with the system..
the space after the word "BluetoothStack" should be deleted, the attachment is the file exported from my registry. And import it to the registry or add it into manually.
Attached Files
File Type: rar Toshiba_BT_Stack_Registry.rar (311 Bytes, 202 views)

I mean the time limit (don't even know what SCMS-T protection is)

By the way, I already corrected the errors in your pasted code an now tried with your reg patch, but the time limit is still active

Thumbs up

Thanks a lot, lidouf
Your patched file seems to work

Did you patch it yourself, how did you do?
What did you change in the file, time limit only or also SCMS-T (by the way, what is SCMS-T) ?

Thanks,
ulysse

this patch was made 2~3 months ago, based on v4.00.30, but it worked for the current version. I can't guarrantee It can work fine for all functions of the newer version. So , good luck.

SCMS-T is a copyright protection method of bluetooth. u see, I don't understand more things.
for example, without this protection, mp3 or other music files can spread to others through bluetooth link, So the copyright of these musics can't be protected, so...(anyone knows the exact answer plz post it up)

time limit patch only made the change that the bt stack can capable with all bt devices(uncertified bt devices have no time limit)

I think SCMS-T's function is mainly about protecting the contents transferring with bt link.
time protection is for the bt stack software, only certified bt devices can use the toshiba bluetooth stack software freely.
