E220 performs software disconnecting

Hi all,

Has anybody come across this phenomenon where the E220 randomly does a software disconnect from the internet? I have tried a variety of tricks from various forums and even from Huawei forums, until I found a hardware patch that I'm currently beta testing that fixes this glitch. Once I have finished testing, I'll post my findings and results here.

Hi all,

Beta testing done and the results are in. Tested the Huawei E220 modem for 3 hours non-stop connectivity. Not once did the modem drop the connection to the cellular network (MTN South Africa). Followed the information contained in the following forum for the construction of the hardware patch:-

http://forum.huawei.com/jive4/thread...=0&orderStr=26

Used the schematic diagram found at the following website and constructed the circuit on a Veroboard:-

The modem's ambient operating temperature also dropped drastically, allowing for excellent connection operations.

Thanks to George Vita for the information.
