IMEI Check/Risks

Sorry if this in the wrong section but i cant seem to find any thread on this.

I was just wondering to check if an IMEI is blacklisted, ive tried http://www.numberingplans.com/?page=analysis&sub=imeinr

but that doesnt show if its black listed?

Also i was wonder if you were to change an IMEI what methods are used to catch you?

Yeah ive seen this before shame it costs to run a check.

Is there any free checks, ive tried this check and it doesnt say any information on blacklisted here?

My bad the second one shows the imei as un-blocked.. but the phone still says limited service

Ok i used the link you posted 1taz and it worked nicely.

Im still wondering about the checks used to catch those who have changed IMEI's how do people get caught?

Still no information on how IMEI's are checked?

It seems from what ive been reading on the forum that people who are changing IMEI's on blacklisted phones are changing IMEI's and they have no problems.

Is it just the major sellers of phones with changed IMEI's that get caught?

You can check if an IMEI is blocked here: http://www.amta.org.au/default.asp?Page=405

But not always is this databse kept up to date. Sometimes it takes some time for the IMEI to be added to the database. Humans are lazy, and this website is run by humans
