TOSHIBA 803 in AUSTRALIA - GSM-Forum

Sorry about my ignorance but I really dont know if this phone can be use in Australia, ....I found it on a local tip together with a power supply and it works OK!! well not really, it keeps on asking for a valid SIM card, which I dont have obviosly.....my question is if I unlock this phone, will I be able to use here in Australia with any other network???.....if its OK then any ideas where I could get a USB cable for it.....

I know about the software I've got it now, basically i wanted to know if this phone can be used in here in australia once unlocked?? I do have the software to unlock it but i dont have the usb cable for this phone, so i dont if its worth to spend the money and purchase a cable to unlock the phone only to find later on the phone can't be used here....

This can be used in Australia for sure! you need a nec8 cable to do this.

It's similar... maybe need a small modification, schematic is somewhere in the forum.

hey thanks dejo....Im in Quinns Rocks....the problem I am facing is that the N8-NEC cable I can get from an ebay UK supplier but apparently doesn't post overseas cause he hasn't replied to my questions; the GX30 cable its much easier to get, well I have found more people selling it on ebay, very very cheap cable, well I'll use it only once and thats it.....Thanks for your help I will hunt down the schematics, and do the mod if I can.....

No worries, just look at "Sharp GX25 unlock cable" schematic (no flash cable, it is different)

only USB cable,not COM.for data and unlock use sipmle original USB cable.
FOR FLASH YOU NEED NEC 3G CABLE OR USB CABLE WITH CHARGING FUNCTION(see pic1).
caution:usually you can't use flash cable for unlock.

This mean you can use GX30 USB DATA cable without mod
