6600: "Startup failed - contact retailer"

Does anyone know what can cause this?

I have tried reflashing the device, and set full factory defaults. It still appears on startup.

Does anyone have any other device?

It may be hardware, because an official nokia service center did not manage to fix it. But their document said that didn't even work to flash it, which i did without problems. They also write "Probably UEM fault".

I'm not sure what UEM is, but i see it's possible to read and write it - is it possible to find some repair-UEM files?

100% solution tested for contact retailer

Erase whole flash, then reflash again using the flash you want, when finishing flasing dont disconectmobile, do a format user area, than aplly all options ui settings
then phone will be unlocked, but if not catch network no prioblem write pm values and everything will be ok, pm values you can find on support Nokia pmm

As other have posted - the answer is there if you look!!

But again if you find it hard to use the search facility:

Method to format 6600!

If you face any of the following problems:

1. Blank screen phone unable to reboot.
2. Phone only able to boot-up to "Nokia" word screen.
3. Install some program but not able to uninstall it after that.
4. Unable to delete unwanted files on C drive.
5. If contact retailer message appears

Do a Full phone formatting on your 6600 as per the steps below,

1. Make sure you have at least 3/4 charge of battery power left - IMPORTANT

2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card before formatting (if you can).

3. Switch-off your 6600 phone, remove and replace battery.

4. Press and hold 3 keys; Green dial key, * Star key, no. 3 key on keypad and then press the power on/off to swtich on the 6600 phone.

Remember, do not let go the 3 press and hold keys until you see a formatting word screen show!

5. After a few minutes when the Full phone formatting completed, your 6600 will back to original system and factory settting.

Problem is solved

WBR
