converting DIV/Terminator Dongle files to UFS format - GSM-Forum

Hi. I know that DIV2UFS by SFlood does this. But it does not convert gdfs files. and the gdfs files in the twister support area for phones like t630/t610/z600 arent the best ones. Ripped from some polish phone or something with preinstalled themes for that polish operator and all that. I was wondering if its possible to somehow convert the div gdfs files to .big format and use it in twister? or anyway to convert the gdfs in .bin format that laser made to use with setool1(com promt) and use them with twister? it would be great since twister as a much better tool for se phones then TD is. But as long as files are crappy I prefer using TD witch takes more time and less stable. So please saras or someone else with the abbility to fix this. Cant you convert these files or make a program so that we can do i our self?

I agree. The so called "clean GDFS" in twister support area are really bad. I think you should upload some proper files that can be used for unbranding.

Same problem with T230 gdfs, it comes with vodafone icon..

Gsmhq: Try doing a master reset on your T630 and notice the background image...

And why is the phone locked to an operator after flashing? (a generic GDFS wouldn't be locked to an operator)

Debranding with twister is actually rebranding. Just a little lighter branding.

but a terminator dongle is that cheap and the gdfs files for cracked div are everywhere so its easier to get a terminator for 10$ or less and download files than trying to convert or ask for twister team to do it

Yes, my TD is better at debranding, but it's very slow, and you have to flash the entire firmware because of RSA (you can't just enable RSA afterwords).

I paid over 250$ for the box, and i expect it to better than my $10 TD.

so true. and as for asking twisterteam to convert files then read the fiirst post. thats what i did. nothing happend. still oldfiles. so for now i use a crappy TD instead of my brand new twister

if someone with enough brains can create a converter for this(and not only avr and arm files but gdfs too) it would be great.

i hope they can look in to it soon.

Twister support is really bad. I don't even think they care anymore about updating anything else than Nokia. I know they are working on BB5, but thats because they are going to charge extra money for it.

Samsung: Lots of models not supported. D500/Z10x is one thing, but phones like E330 and X460 is not even fully supported.
SE: No updates in a long time, and they don't care about having good flashfiles (example T630 debranding).

Too bad, cause twister could be a great device..

Twister is a Nokia box at its heart, and I am happy it does that so well and has excellent flash support for that.

The other features are nice gifts, but they are not as important. For the best Samsung and SE tools, you need to get other devices. Each device has one specialty and Twister's is Nokia

I know as a owner, that Nokia is Twisters "main" area. But it is markeded as "Multi-box"...

Nokia or not Nokia. As long as they sell it as a multibox they should support the other phones and models.. If I am to buy a new box for every phonemark I would be bankrupt in no time. Twister is a great device but they should do better on the support side. I hope they can sort this out.

If yes you are in the wrong business.
Do not other pple fustration here and let me explain to you it not the box that does the, it is the brain,and it is pple like you that beleive if they have all the boxes they will do all the job. But in the contrary they help you to kill phones.

Yes We have been luccky untill few months ago that the laser was on our site and up till now ther is no better tool foe Se phone than div with Td , don't mind it is cheap but it is good.

And like other member said twister is nokia base and the team is doing the best possible on the market to support , please alternatives for other problem.

Setool is the best and it is cheap but I can buy it
