Member: 1833250 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Hello all, Greetings from the US. I am new here and just found this thread on the 750. I know it is old, and it is taboo to revive an old thread so old. But I figured instead of being a newbie and starting a new thread on the same one, replying to this one will send an email to the original posters, as well as bring it to the top for members that have joined since, and maybe have more info. I just bought a 750 AirCard on ****, it was only a dollar, so I figured it would not hurt to try it. It is Vodafone branded, but was located in the US. Seller said they used it overseas. I plan on using T-Mobile, which is partnered with Vodafone overseas now, I am also hoping that since the AirCards are no longer made that I will be able to use it without unlocking as times have changed and maybe it kind of fell of the locked database. (if that is even possible) I did try searching on ATT for their prepaid, and it asked for the IMEI, it took it without rejecting it. I entered it wrong the first time, and it rejected it, the right number I took, so I do not know if that is a good sign or not. Like I said I plan on using T-Mobile, as I already have a contract phone with them, but plan on getting a pay by day, 2 dollar a day plan, to test it, if it works I will opt to go with a monthly, 30 dollar for unlimited data - 100 talk min plan, as they are the cheapest, and that is the closest data only plan I can find. I already ordered the SIM cards, (2 just in case, they are only 99 cents on t-mobiles website.) I also plan on using my sim card in my contract phone to see if I can get the air card to work on my plan with my data, if I can, then I will order the prepaid kit. For my application, it will be used in law enforcement. It will be used between two of three of my computers, both laptops, and computers in vehicles. No heavy video downloads or stuff like that, just a Computer Aided Dispatch system, GPS, and email. Does anyone of a easy way to unlock the aircard, or should it be fine? Thank you for any help. |

Member: 1833250 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | I got the AirCard in the mail, installed Sierra Wireless software and drivers for it, popped in my T-Mobile sim card from my contract phone and it worked. It is branded Vodafone but worked just fine on T-Mobile in the US. I now plan on getting prepaid service to one of the sims I ordered. I am pretty happy for getting it off ****. Was only a dollar (was the only bidder), 5 bucks shipping. Pic only showed AirCard and Antenna, but it had the Vodafone case, manual, book, CD, and the PCMCIA card case. |
