What is the problem here with flashing 7610?

Got this when I try to flash my 7610:

1st Boot Err: Bad Resp UPP, 03 00 00 72
Process Failed, Repowering Mobile

However, reading details is no problem at all:

MCU Sw: V 4.0421.4 22-05-04 RH-51 (c)NMP
PPM Sw: V 4.0421.4 22-05-04 RH-51 (c)NMP.07
BT Det:
Prd.Cd: 0514528
Bpr.Cd: 0511637
Pro.Sn: SCG405111
HW : 6003
PCI :
UEM : 32
UPP : 4225
RFIC : 0204
DSP : CN3.50
LCD :
IMEI : 353387-00-xxxxxx-2
SLconf: 001-01-00000000000
SLprof: 000000000000000-5
SLvar : 00553533870005943500
SLaux : 00055555

Also, unlocking, no problem too:

IMEI: 353387-00-xxxxxx-2, ASIC: 5
SimLocks Initialized, 07, Time: 00:01
SimLocks Initialized, Time: 00:13

So, what does that boot error means?

Thanks in advance...

I switch on the phone, and connect it to twister... read the details as in my first post... for flashing, I select MCU and PPM and options "use ini settings", "flash PPM only", "autodetect product"...

After pressing START, phone turns OFF and I get the error above:

Detected V 4.0421.4 22-05-04 RH-51
1st Boot Err: Bad Resp UPP, 03 00 00 72
Process Failed, Repowering Mobile

And phone stays OFF...

Any solution?

The cable that I use is not factory made cable... I have my home made cable just to be the first here to flash, as usual

Well, got one 68K resistor on BSI line and with that resistor, I turn ON the phone, the phone stays ON and I can read phone details and unlock it...

But when I add that small resistor (as on other cables) between BSI and GND, I turn the phone ON and it turns OFF after 1 second, can't read the details and can't unlock... can't do anything...

I know the pinout is correct... and all pins fit and press to all points correctly... maybe new bootloaders are needed or shall I install new Flash Update etc... etc...

Any help... thanks in advance...

Oliver

Oliver
can u specifie the value of the "small resistor" please.

I suggest to user the cable schematic of 6600, when you connect the cable you should wait little bit, NOT POWER on the phone, choose WD2 and will appear on screen NOKIA similar as by other WD2 phones.

I don't know the value of the small resistor but it has been taken form the Nokia 3300 cable for Twister and I have opened few other Twister cables and they have the same small resistor... cable schematic is same as for nokia 6600... it took me 1 day to discover the pinout bymayself

OK, will try your way... be right back

3300 phone have battery with 4 contacts, the cable has different resistors inside, there is inside 68k and 47k.

use cable from 6600 for reference, this is a WD2 phone, or if you not want damage it, the resistors used in WD2 cable you also can find in 6100 cable,. It is definitiv a cable problem, you used wrong values.

Yes, I have realised it even before you posted your last post and also found the error in the cable... no time to fix now... will do it in the morning when I go to work in my gsm repair shop...

Also, it seems I had false resistor schematic... 68K comes between GND and BSI and 3K9 comes directly on BSI line to the box...

Will remake, test and report...

Thank you for your help... I appreciate the support...

OK, thank you... I have made the changes on the connector and WOW! I'm flashing my Nokia 7610... I was happy

But when I took the phone of the cable, put SIM card inside and switched it ON, on the screen I had only 4 times NOKIA and then the phone switched OFF...

I formated the user area 15 times, as some said that helped, but still the same...

Raskal, need your help... got many 7610 on the way to me...
