Member: 1526774 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Bricked s5230, can I build my own uart cable? I've bricked my s5230 (star), during flash the boot2.img failed. It's completely dead, not even the lcd backlight or anything like that. I'm trying to solve this without any box, so is it possible to make my own uart cable? I have a serial port (usb-serial converter), how do I start from there to connect it to the phone? Does it require any additional ics or just wires and resistors? Is there a special voltage needed or just what comes out of the pc? If it doesnt work with serial, I also have lpt. Thanks in advance, Stannieman |

Member: 1526774 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | I did try to flash again, but I can't get into download mode so multiloader doesn't recognise the phone. The battery is full, I fully charged it before the flash went wrong. I think I need to write directly to the chip with bootfiles. So it seems jtag is the way to go without box? |

Member: 1526774 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Ok the local pc shop/phone shop can't fix it cause they don't have a box, they don't know of any nearby samsung service centers, and they also said samsung will charge a lot because it's out of warranty. But they adviced me to go to the so called 'black market'. I might get a chance there, and it's less than half an hour by bike anyway so I don't have much to loose. It's only open on sunday, but I'll give it a try! |
