Red face D500 Replacement Cover

Noting Nezman's remarks about the ribbon cable, I am in process of strip-down to replace the LCD, but cannot quite see how the ribbon releases. Is it from the PCB or the LCD. Does it simply slide out or is it locked in? Can anyone please enlighten me?
