Member: 24149 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 9 | The motherboard is clean, but still keys don't work, someone has told me in this same forum that he has solved the problem in his E720 by removing the "protective varistors in the keypad side" anyone knows what does this mean? thanks in advance. |

Member: 24149 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 9 | I've located the varistors in the service manual, and I've removed all that are located on the keypad side of the motherboard, but nothing changed, do I need to put some tiny wire or something where the varistor was so electricity can flow? Or I just have to remove them and leave it alone. Here are the varistors I've removed: http://personales.ya.com/ferrerb/E720MBF.jpg Thanks in advance |

Member: 24149 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 9 | It worked! Thanks a lot -oRc- I've finally removed all varistors in PCB (around 20) and now my E720 works smoothly! I post here some pics in case someone needs to know wich varistors to remove and where are they located. |

Member: 24149 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 9 | I removed all because I know nothing of circuit boards, Samsung Technical Service asked me 290€ + Taxes to repair the damn phone so I ended up here out of necesity, I don't even know what a varistor is or how to test it, I had nothing to lose, so I removed all those moth*rf*ckers, BTW anyone knows what are the consecuences of removing varistors? |
