Smile Head Scratcher

Hi guys,

First post, thanks for taking the time to read this, have a Samsung S4 that was previously on a boot loop (no root) - Managed to sort that out by drowning the power switch in Alcohol and WD40 specialist contact cleaner (non conductive)

It came out of the boot loop, during this time of bootloop there was no issues with turning on or charging, I was also cleaning the motherboard during this, however when it came on it was stable for 5 minutes and then the screen froze and after about 10 seconds on the freeze it shut off, power button then totally unresponsive (zero success) and no charge function.

Then I take the motherboard about again and soak it and clean in, leave it dry for 30 minutes, back in and it comes back on (sometimes for a few minutes or 10) then freeze and back to square one.

Now I'm focusing my cleans in a patch to try and find the culprit, however after each clean it comes on without fail, but only once, after it freezes and goes off, it's game over until the next scrub. Deffo a pattern of success there.

I focus the clean on the eMMC and Power IC and Light Driver area, could it be anyone of these?

Thoughts are welcome

Main ICs overheating and thermal cutoff. Make sure you have both heatsink transfer pads.
