I have exactly the same problem. When I insert the battery, the IC gets hot.

I connected the charger and the phone goes on. Few mintues later, on screen appears next message (more or less, translated from Spanish):

Charge interrupted. High temperature.

The batterys (I have proved several) are ok.

Finally I solved it!!

The s2 was in android 4.0.3

I flashed to android 4.1.2 and now I don't have charging problem in this device. No more hot and I can charge the s2 completly without any error message.

Firstly, I thought it was a hardware problem, but everything was right. I decided update the firmware, and it was the solution.

Try this because my problem was the same and now the s2 is working well.

Don't forget to comment if it work in your case.
