Member: 189719 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | Thanks for the offer but i managed it in the end You have to go through the phone from the back to the front. It was the 4 small screws under the slider that had me confused. But i managed to work it out in the end |

Member: 189719 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | This is how i did it... 1. Push up the slider and pop out the 2 rubber stoppers and remove the 2 small screws. 2. From the back of the phone (battery side) remove the 4 screws holding the back case on. Remove the back housing. 3. Now you have the main board PCB exposed. Remove the 2 small screws holding the PCB down. 4. Carefully pull the PCB forward (you should have a bit of anti-static tape holding the bottom side down) and now you should see 5 phillips head screws and a small piece of black tap that is hiding another one so remove it(these hold the slider in place) 5. Carefully remove the ribbon that is connected to the PCB (there is a bit of tape holding it in position) 6. Take out the 6 phillips screws under the PCB holding the slider (You need a very fine tip phillips screw driver as they strip very easily and are quite tight at first) 7. Pull the back piece away from the front and under the slider there are now 4 small screws (2 on either side) holding the front facia on... remove them and pry the front facia from the screen. 8. Thats it... Note there are 4 ribbons connected to the back of the LCD that are covered with a piece of tape... carefully peel it off in one piece and you can remove them the usual way. and there are 2 pieces of tape holding the main ribbon down as well. oh and also the main ribbon and the camera ribbon are stuck down to the LCD housing. You need to carefull pull them once you open the catch. Sorry I couldn't give you any screen shots, but i don't have one here to show you. (And hopefully never will again ), But I do have an LCD if you need to see the back of that.. Good Luck |

Member: 820377 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | How to change the fascia on a D800 Just got one of these from my mother in law, it is pink, so I have bought new fascias etc and hopefully someone can give me some detailed instructions to change them. Can get to the screws under the slider, but to be honest a bit scared of all the stuff that is taped down. Thanks in advance. |
