Samsung Galaxy Nexus Sim Tray Soldering

Hi Folks,

I'm totally new here, and apologize for the rules I am breaking and don't know about yet.

I'm also new at cell phone repair.

I got this Galaxy Nexus in working order other than the sim slot. There was a broken pin. I ordered a new sim tray, and broke the old one out.

Now it looks like there were little pads for soldering that I got rid of. Where I was expecting to be able to attach the new slot, I can't make solder stick, I guess because I trashed the pads that were there.

Am I screwed or is there something I can do?

Billy

Do you mean that I could glue the tray in place and solder little wires directly to the connections instead of use the traces? Seems like a good idea.
