samsung gt-i9505 not charging
try to check L911 and C908
if both components are still working well replace U903 and U906

I have a similar problem, with an S4 that was badly dropped on the floor.

No shorts anywhere, and when i connect power on battery terminals, consumption is 0.00A , but if i try to power it up.. i have high consumption (over 1A) and phone doesn't power up.
It also doesn't charge when connecting usb cable.

Already desoldered, reballed and resoldered U903 without success..

Hi, lets try step by step, when phone turned on:

Check the U501 output voltage - C835=1.225V, C838=1.05V. If the output voltage is not satisfied with normal condition, replace U800.

Thanks KorAll !!

I found my problem !! :-)
There was a short on VREG_S4_1P8 , two capacitors near UPC600 where shorted. C602 and C603.

After removing those caps, no more short !

i9505 freeze on charging

Hi all,

I have Samsung Galaxy S4 with rather strange behaveour. Its original motherboard got fried during the charging process.

So I looked around and found used Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 with broken screen. its motherboard was from i9505.

So when I ordered and replaced the motherboard the phone started behaving rather strangely...

It boots normaly, and everithyng works when booted - GSM, WIFI and Blue Tooth.
Normaly recognised by PC when connected using the USB cable.
But when I connect the battery charger it starts behaving rather strangely.
At first it starts charging (red led appears in top-left corner), and eventually (after say 15-20 minutes) it goes into "sleep mode" (black screen).
If it remanins charging for 30 minutes or more it gets stuck - no buttons function, and the only way is to remove the battery and put it back after 10-20 seconds.
More over, when it gets frozen it stops charging the battery.

So please, Please anyone/everyone, HELP! Are there some motherboard components I should check out?
