u600 camera/restart - GSM-Forum

Got a u600 today with a faulty keypad and it wouldent switch off
just powered on when the battery was inserted.
Turned out to be a little water ingress around the connectors
(keypad and camera flex connectors)
Fortunately it wasent to bad and a thorough clean seemed to work.
It now switches on and off and the keypad works fine.
The problem is(i dont know if it this problem to begin with)
The camera although works,is very very slow and once you have taken a picture it resets itself

i know these phones have realy slow cameras
anyways but can someone tell me if this is still a hardware fault or wether its a software problem,and what i should do next???

hi there!

ive repaire alot of samsung u600"s this camera probblem is a hardware fault. once u hae take a picture, the phone should not reset itself. it is a hardware fault, you can either: replacethe whole camrea moduel,which isa whole unit that consists of camera, powerswitch, ringer,speaker. or it can also be a hardwarefault where youneed to change the camera IC. you can do eiter repair ifyou are a experenced engineer, or you can send the phone to us, we have a retails outlet and do offer a mobile phone reair service. if u need any more info cantact me. many thanks! good luck with your phone!

hmm thanks.
When i say resets i mean just to the u600 screen,not a complete restart.
Il try ultrasonic bath and a bit of a reheat on the main board.
Prehaps a flash if i get bored,if it dont work after that its going in the spares bin.
Im surprised how cheap these are now

I took the main ribbon(that goes between both boards)out and there was a little more
oxadizing on the ribbon,carefully cleaned this off with a pin an some alcohol.
Cameras fine now.
was hardware then
