Will a bad PA in T68 kill the battery?

My phone went dead and i tried a new battery on it. It got pretty hot and went dead again 1/2 hour later. Couldn't recharge it.

What does 'reflow the power IC' mean?

Another question...
What should the correct resistance be at the battery connector? I am getting 6.5ohm.

Battery not dead! Li-Io and Li-pol battery have charge controler inside. I thynk thys controler is dameged.
Are You crazy? Can`t check battery impendanse wyth smple ohmmeter! Normal battery have very small impedanse ( 0.3 - 0.001 Ohm) You mu8st knou it if You teache elementar fisiks

But maby bat not dead, just try little trik:
Try conekt batery direktly to +5 volt sourse fore feu second and then put it to phone and try charge in normal mod. ( if bat is fully empety, phone cant go to charge it. need lipple "push" but. like on T28 and ather )
