| Home made flash cable? I have modified a DCU-11 USB cable so that it is switchable between normal data cable operation and 'service' operation. I assume 'service' operation is what flash cables are. I noted that the only differences between data and service cable: SE T28 type connection pins USB Data cable Service cable TX ---------- 5 --/ -- 7 RX ---------- 4 --/ -- 6 V+ ---------- 11* --/ -- 9 It is a matter of putting a swich to throw between those pins. I can not find any 3 ways switch small enough to mount at the T28 end connector so I use a jumper block with 3 removable plastic jumpers. *I found 'charging' message enoying when trying to flash if pin 11 is left connected; you can put another jumper for it but I find easier just to put a sticky tape over pin 11 on the phone connector when flashing. Ok, SETool2 seems to work with this cable ie. READ FLASH, GDFS but I am too chicken to try doing writes. Questiosn please: 1) WHAT sort of cable is this modified DCU-11? I tried to find info at pinouts.ru but no luck. 2) What software will work with it? I have SETool2 but it does not seem to have T6xx support. 3) SETool2 'press power shortly!' does that mean 'press power on momentary' or 'press power when prompt shorthly'?? I intepreted the 1st. 4) Flash files seem to be cable 'brand' dependent where do I find suitable flash files for T610, T630 for this modified DCU-11? Thankyou |

| Follow up hmm! reading more about this issue, it may be similar to a cruiser cable or DSS-20/25 although the switching between 'data' & 'service' is programmable rather than hard switching or jumpering. More update, tested with Davinci client 15.8 on a T610 'Test cable' detects the phone but I am not confident enough to buy an account with DavinciTeam.com if anyone try this please confirm if it works. SETool2 does not work with T6xx I registered with SETOOL.net looked in there archive and nothing on T6xx.Maybe Cruiser?! will post more when I check it out.
