| Soldering a new joystick - how hard? Well basically the joystick on my k750i broke off. I mean the metal pins on the black switch thing (that attaches the joystick to the circuit board) are completely sheared through. So after putting up with it for a few months I finally got round to taking the phone apart to see how hard it would be to repair. To my dismay it looks like it would be really hard to solder the thing back on, because the contacts are so small. Now, having read on the internet that you can buy replacement switches and people have managed to unsolder/resolder the components, but its hard and you need the right tools. I have currently just a basic soldering iron that is quite blunt and it looks like it would be almost impossible to do this kind of precision work. I'm wondering what tools do you need to do the job properly? Can someone who had done this before (and not screwed up their phone, lol) give me some advice? |
