Sony Ericsson W800i Microphone - GSM-Forum

Hi

I've got a Sony Ericsson that was dropped in water; it has been cleaned and everything is working except the microphone. If i put the phone in front of my ***** the other caller can hear me vaguely.

How can you replace the microphone and where can i purchase the microphone from?

When you clean the pcb with alcohol, it´s normal that you kill the mic. there ist small plastic mebrane inside, which is destroy, you have to change the mic or test this solution:

THNX for the solution,

I cleaned it with Electrical contact &parts cleaner by LOCTITE, not with pure alchochol....

Anyway I'll try your solution. I 've already tried with success in a V3..

well i got the same problem here,
on other gsm forums, i get no solution.
so maybe here u can help, and ill help other members then

the only thing i dont get i the scematic.
i'll post an picture of the w800i backside,
maybe someone can make a lil more clear scematic, with micophone specs, and the clear ohmage of the other electronic (dunno the word in english

)

i believe the microphone i beneeth the little hole on the top right (am i right?)

at last i found it, you have to ripp of the microphone carfully, and then you indeed have the print as shown in this topic
