Hi Peter,

Were just facing exact same problem with Xperia Z3.

As no schematics available difficult to diagnose.

I have found the issue with no vibration on Z3. Vibration fuse was ****n.

Replace or jumper the fuse solved the problem.

See picture in attachement for the fix.

Good luck and let us know if it has worked.

how to test vibrator with external power?

Hi. I've got sort of the same problem, but don't know what (or how to) do...

I can't get the vibrator to work after screen replacement.

Changed the flex cable and SUB board but still no vibration.

Can anyone help me with this?
  • How can I test if the vibrator is working with external power?
  • How can I test if fuse is ok?

asandven.

For Z3 compact it's just bove the connector of the button/vibrator flex. Just locate the "A"

A big thanks! This problem was about to give me some headache...
Luckily this solution was available. Happened also after changing full front, which was original, so full frame.

Has anyone a explanation for this issue?
Just a simple short to ground after partial assembly during tests...or....ESD....or?...
