However now mobile will not charge properly. It will allow 0.07 amps through but won't charge at that. Tried a reset and changed battery but still no joy. Any help greatly appreciated! |

The phone reports that it uses more energy than it can charge up, effectively discharging the battery. A freshly charged battery will deplete to a certain level, and stay there until either power is completly removed, the phone is software repaired, or turned off for a long time. I read somewhere on the web that a certain version of android will cause charging issues. I tried updating the phone I'm working on, but it didn't do much good. The customer said the phone was updated, and put in a drawer as a replacement phone - and left there 6+ months. It was completly dead when taken out for usage, and wouldn't turn on even after a long time just sitting dead charging. I have tried several new batteries, and I'm thinking it's either a software issue - or that the power management integrated circuit (PMIC) has been damaged by the long storage period. When I got the unit up and running again, the phone did a lot of updating - so the customer did not complete the update entirely. Another Z1 compact I had started flashing red on top. A hard reset took care of that problem. My experience is that the Z1 Compact (or any phone for that matter) should not be left in a drawer for a long time, without maintnence. They will simply destroy the battery - but a faulty battery isn't always the entire cause. Good luck on finding out why - and when you do, please let us know here. Unfortunately I can't give you an exact fix, as it seems there's a lot of various reason to the Z's not charging. - and have a nice weekend as well |

(This happened on one occation after a software repair session, and the phone was just sitting on the bench, waiting for the setup to commence) The phone also reports a charge of 1%, or something else low, but keeps the phone running for a bit - so the battery gauge functionality isn't working correctly. |
