Member: 83 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | T610 battery strange charging problem (+) I need help to ged rid of strange charging problem in T610 Problem1: Very unstable battery detection. Sometimes phone can recognize battery as "Ericsson approved", sometimes not. Problem2: charging indicator shows chagring state but no actual charging proceeds if battery was recognized as Ericsson Approved. Description: using Battery Menu i'v found what in "Approved" mode battery temp. reading after conecting the charges immidiatley rises from normal (20-23) to 100 degrees and charges suspends charging waiting for temp. to decrease ("AWAIT" status). Example: before charger was connected the first time: BT 23 PT 23 - all ok after charged connected: BT 100 PT 23 - BT reading is bad. BT 100 stands still even if charger was disconnected, until full phone reboot. If battery was recognized as "Alien" charging is OK (because BData line and internal battery temperature sensor is not used in this case). Battery is proven to be 100% working by interchange with another phone. Fault is 100% in the handy. I suspect three things: 1. PCB or discrete element fault - parasite resistance from changing circuitry to BData (middle battery pin) resulting bad data reading from battery. 2. Power controller fault. 3. Damaged battery calibration data in GDFS, somehow connected with BData line performance. So i need a good advice from wise people on how to repair this problem. I don't want to replace power controller before another fault possibilites was not investigated. Phone is suspected to be unbranded with GDFS downloading - maybe wrong GDFS data was uploaded or so. If its possible to find i need advanced level service manual for T610 or its schematic - i need at least schema for BData signal path. Also if some one knows - what GDFS variables used for battey calibration? Thanks in advance. |

Member: | Uploading GDFS from same HW revision might help you, also latest FW update should be done. I had problem with my own t610 - battery discharge after one day of use, and after updating with R3C FW all is ok now. Phone was R1L013 before, and unlocked with DIV8.2 using OTP imei trick. I didn't messed up with GDFS, becouse of calibration data, i was thinking it can actualy kill my phone, or ends up with "no access" or some other problem. You shoud check what way is used for unlocking, if phone was unlocked, and of course, is GDFS original or not. I don't think it's HW problem, allmost sure it is related to GDFS. |

Member: 83 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | @legija Thanks for attention! Phone surely was unlocked and unbranded. SW R1L013. No change after updating to R3C002 and uploading T610_original_GDFS_area.gdf. Surely, if BData calibration was destroyed, original GDFS can't repair or update it - because this GDFS file doesn't affect any security or calibration data (and its good, of course). Phone itself if new and unused, but no one knows what ways was used for its unbranding/unlocking. If its really SW fault, i surely need to upload whole GDFS from another phone or find really wise man who knows where battery calibration data is stored or how to use testprogram to repair battery parameters. But i think only Lead can be that man in this forum |

Member: 163 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 7,784 | you have some passive elements dead ... - is the charging voltage on phone pins OK ? - does it vary from lower to higher voltage and then stops at normal voltage ? - does phone charge 'alien' battery normally ? with which voltage ? please give me this info ... maybe we can do something, 'coz charging is almost the same on all ericsson phone (principal of charging and other things) b.r.
