Had a problem with a W760i today, replaced broken Chsrger connector. But the unit kept turning off when trying to charge, so in the end I just connected it to Sony Ericsson service upadter, and after a few Atempts it uppdated the software. Now the unit charges and is working fine. I did try the usual srevice tool to try and re-flash the unit but it couldīnt find it, or when it did it didīnt work. So this helped me today, hope it helps somebody else. But as always you do these at your own risk.

Hi

You are welcome.

I tried with Setool, and some other tools. The W760 is a strange one. Sometimes the PC could fin it and others not. The best solution for me was the SE Service update software, with a fully charged battery. But it didītake a few attempts to do, on the third attempt it worked. The connector pad area is very sensitive especially after replacing it with a new connector. I still had to apply a little pressure on the connector against the PCB to get this update to work, but only a little pressure. If you find another solution please let me know for future reference.

Yes, you are right sometimes pure hardware troubleshooting is the only way.
