You need a Box. Cruiser & SE Tool are the Best Box.

how to fix your w800i flash

hi, I just gone thrue this learning curve so here it is .
The tools you need (that I used):
- serial cable based on MAX232 (search on Sony ericsson tutorial) adapted to w800i connection (CTMS,CFMS pins)>
- Sonics Top Sony software
- SeTool2 (speed_unlock) cracked v0.91373

The problem with flashing SE phones is because there are so many variation of flash firmware many are not complete: EROM, MAIN,FS,GDFS. The typical is the flash can not be completed with a message: csloader refused to start error ...

Ok lets start:
1) SeTool2 RECOVERY is not working, so you have to use Sonics to recover the phone to a clean starting point. Note that Sonics can only recover up to CID36. Do that and get out. Interestingly sometimes Sonics gets a bit lost and can not recover. So use SeTool and make an attempt to flash even if it fails. Go back to Sonics to recover.
2) Back to SeTool2 flash EROM.version.CID.etc.mbn note the file CID will be 255. In the setting untick everything. Flash it.
3) Still and remain in SeTool2. Click on 'CID change' to RED36 (in my case)
4) Select the appropriate Main.mbn & FS.fbn don't tick 'complete'. Flash it.
I leave convert to Red after flash on in setting is ok.
5) pick a GDFS file, here I have some trouble only .bin file works, the .gdfs I got from TopSony don't seem to work. Tick 'Format GDFS' select 'write GDFS' watch it goes thrue
6) clear all file entries. In setting tick 'complete phone' & convert to Red after flash. FLash it... watch the last little bit where it loads 'Chip Select Loader' after that it's where the infamous 'csloader refused to start' error killls the phone. If it goes thrue.. it's done.

Do unlock if you have to, but make sure the phone is RED, if it does not unlock just redo 'write gdfs, try different files, follow by 'complete'.

I hope this helps, the info is scattered all around but the answer is what I described.
