Member: 193485 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | 08.D0 L7 with iTunes I have two L7's here. Both working. The first (Euro/Asia Version): Boot Loader 08.D0. SW Version: R4513_G_08.B7.DAR_RB The second (Cingular iTunes): Boot Loader 0A.20. SW Version: R4517_G_08.C4.1ER The plan: Do a complete testpoint back up of both phones. Testpoint flash the 0A.20 backup into the 08.D0 phone. The simple plans are often the best, right? Has anyone tried this before? Any suggestions? Anyone want to wish me luck? |

Member: 193485 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | uploads Ok - busy day - I FINALLY finished backing up both phones. I'm uploading the .smb files right now to rapidshare - I'll post links in about 30 mins. I guess I'm going to just try writing the 0a.20 .smb to the 08.d0 phone. I'm hopeing that a full 32meg backup includes the boot loader, and if I check the "overwrite boot area" check box the 08.d0 will get upgraded to the new bootloader and just *werk* with the cingular software - we'll see. Either way hopefully these back-ups will be of use to someone for something. Is anyone in the smart-clip team interested in getting these uploaded to boot-loader? cause my account doesn't seem to have upload access... |

Member: 193485 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | @gwaai You're right of course. It didn't work. Keypad lights up when you insert battery - but it won't power on. HOWEVER!!! When you hold * & # to check the boot-loader screen...[drumroll] It IS 0A.20!!! I feel accomplished anyway - thanks for the encouragement Here's what I'm thinking... I have an original motorola cingular .shx, I've flashed 08.D0 phones with this superfile before in RSD 2.5 Lite and afterwards they won't boot. Don't remember how I fixed them... I think I must have got a 08.D0 .smf file off boot-loader... Regardless, the point is when you enter the boot-loader screen they REMAIN 08.D0. I purpose the failure is not caused so much by a hardware difference, as much as a bootloader difference. Has anyone flashed an 8.23 RAZR with 8.26 software before applying the bootloader refresher? Symptoms are kinda similar to flashing 08.D0 L7 with the cingular software released for 0A.20 phones... I'm trying it on Monday regardless. I'll post the results. |

for V3 case, they have different Boot-Loader, but their software version is the same, I mean, Rxxx is the same ... but, in L7 case, one is R4513, one is R4517 .... u see?! some motorola have different boot loader in SAME Model and SAME Rxxx version, but, I didn't see a phone can flash different Rxxx version yet .... so, I would say 'NO', ur 'Symptoms are kinda similar to flashing 08.D0 L7 with the cingular software released for 0A.20 phones...' statement is not true | |
