The basics of Moto-flashing?

I'm not very familiar with flashing Motorolas - could anyone please tell me how Motos work? Or give me a link where i can read more about it?

Eg. what parts are the flash divided in? (Main, Language, GDFS?) What do i need to change language on a phone? Simply flash a language pack with same SW as the phone already has? Is it that simple?

motorola works with flash and flex system.

in a full flash (sometimes called ******* pack) you will find complete firmware (muc, lp, flex, and some things which are too complex to explain them here.

you will find also reflash files, these are flash files which replace just the mcu or the language pack).

the complete full flash or reflash will be flashed in bootloader mode. a flex you can flex on running phone and after restart you will see the changes.

Thank you!!! That's exactly what i needed

Could you explain more what Flex files contain? Since it does not need flash mode - does these files only contain settings? Maybe media files?
