Boot_loader Login Problem with Smartmoto on USB

I have Smart Clip connected via USB to Parallel cable, but when I go on boot-loader and login via the USB option i'm getting this error:

Looking for clip on USB adapter... Exception: access violation at 03DADF95

Can anyone help please?

Please specify what exactly cable did you use to connect your Clip to PC? Are you using Smart Adaptor? Have you installed drivers?

Best Regards

No i'm not using Smart Adaptor, I have a USB to Parallel Port Cable which is similar to what Smart Adpator does (simply convert USB to Parallel). Yes the drivers are automatically installed by Vista. But still get this error when using Bootloader to see the smart clip.

I don't think it will work with Smart-Clip. The only device that is fully tested and compatible with Smart-Clip - is Smart Adaptor.

Ok, instead I have connected Smart Clip to standard Parallel Adapator (PCi-express to Parallel card), but when I do connect it looks for a Hex address under LPT1, and says no clip found. Any ideas on how to set a Hex address for LPT1 under Windows Vista? The port options under device manager only say use interrupt, but doesn't actually let you assign one.

Thanks

Such adapters wasn't fully tested and we can't guaranty stable work. Smart Adaptor is an exception.

Try to set LPT settings on ActiveX to AUTO.

Well I ended up having to buy a Smart Adaptor, and it works fine via USB and after updating firmware. I personally have to say that the cost of the cable is ridiculous, at the very least, for the price you pay, it should at least come with 6 months access to files... what do you say supporters? The smart cable is around 10x the cost of a standard usb to parallel cable.

Thanks for the help anyway.

Offline PDS repair??? whats that about, and is it much a big deal? Is that better than access to files on boot loader for six months?

thanks for all your replies by the way, great support here
