Cannot open com port, but using com1? - GSM-Forum

I'm trying to unlock a W377 using com1, but smart just says "cannot open comport" in the device manger windows says that the comport is fine?

@ Fonecables,

To be able to unlock this phone model the drivers for the cable has to be installed.
What cable you are using?
Have you installed drivers?

Im using a comport cable? they dont need drivers?

Compal based handsets can be unlocked using COM port cable or any COM port emulator.

just used those drivers with a uni box, but all i get is thi.

@ Fonecables,

In case if you are using COM port emulator no need to use those drivers.
Make sure that the handset connected properly and run unlock procedure once again.
That error usually appears if the connection between the Phone and SmartMoto not stable.

I still cant unlock any W377, i can unlock W375 fine, just not the W377's?

You have select the com port "com1" in the unlock windows and after select in "imei restore" window the same com port. Then just work fine.

found solution from another post here....

used infinity box as com port emulator but had to change port latency settings to 8 and worked
