i need to unlock this fone and am worried it may die has anyone succesfully unlocked this phone

I unlocked mine Motorola V8 several years ago

What happened with it?

power went off while unlocking, by then scout, scard were difff products so i gave a guy to flash, when i picked it, it was only blinking bootloader 1second then off it has been dead since

@ robba,

Try to perform following:

Connect S-Card to PC and run SCout flasher
Press and hold *# buttons
Connect powered off phone without battery to PC USB port
Insert battery
If the set could be detectedflash it with the same firmware version like it originally had
Also, if the phone could be detected please sign here how it get detected.

If the phone can not be detected at all, nothing can be done to it.

P.S. S-Card is fully compatible with the SCout flasher and can be used instead of the SCout dongle.
